The Crown

We came for our daughter’s birthday, hoping for somewhere lovely and a bit special, and it exceeded all expectations. The gentleman who served us was attentive and warm, and made us feel like the only guests there. The service was outstanding. We had the minute steaks and crème brûlée, both beautifully cooked and presented. Such an enjoyable lunch, and one we’ll remember fondly. Thank you for making her birthday special. We’ll definitely be back!

We stayed one night at the crown, and the service was superb from start to finish. The staff were friendly, the room spacious, with beautiful exposed beams, and the food was excellent across the board. The cooked breakfast was faultless. They even let me use their EV charger for free. Would recommend 100%.

The service was mostly good, though one waitress at breakfast was rude. The meal was a mixed bag: our main course was fine, but the extra vegetables were grey and overcooked, and the good crème brûlée came with madelaines that were inedible and should never have left the kitchen. Breakfast itself was mediocre. Our room was spacious, but the carpet was badly stained, it smelled of takeaway, and the bed valance was hanging off. It needed some care. Coming in through the back meant walking through a grubby area that smelled of boiled fish. We left feeling sad and disappointed.

We really enjoyed our two nights here. It had been a while since we'd visited, but the lovely food, welcoming service and nice room made us glad we came back. We’ll be back again!
