Woodlands Hotel

It’s a pleasant place to stay, with clean, spacious rooms and a nice area for breakfast. There’s continental food and a full English on offer. The building has a lovely old fashioned feel, and the staff are friendly, helpful and happy to assist when needed. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the bus and train station, with services to other large towns or cities. Shops, banks, cafés, pubs and restaurants are all within easy walking distance. There’s also plenty to explore in town, including river taxis in summer. Worth a visit.

The Christmas party night was such a great evening. The food portions were generous, and both the meal and service were first class. Couldn’t fault it. I’d definitely recommend the woodlands.

I’ve been staying at Woodlands Hotel for a while. It may not be the newest or most modern hotel around, but the staff, service and hospitality are honestly 10/10. The rooms are cleaned daily, and towels and bedding are changed every day. It’s a perfect quiet place for people who work days and need to sleep at night.

We held my mum’s funeral wake at The Woodlands Hotel. Before booking, I contacted several venues in Spalding, but none were as flexible or accommodating. We could visit beforehand, and the manager, Gan, talked us through the arrangements and listened to what we needed. Unlike the other venues, the room price wasn’t limited to a set number of hours, which helped the occasion feel relaxed. We didn’t have to worry about clearing the room by a certain time. When we arrived from the cemetery, our guests had already been welcomed and seated. They were offered tea and coffee or shown to the bar, and the freshly cooked buffet was served soon after we got there. I didn’t eat much, but several people told me how lovely the food was and how welcome they’d felt. The room looked beautiful, with round tables and crisp white tablecloths. The doors opened onto the patio, where guests could sit outside too. Gan and his team were warm and friendly and made a very difficult, sad day easier to bear. Many thanks to Gan and all the staff.
