The Driftwood Spars

We came for Sunday lunch only, not a hotel stay. The roast was first class and absolutely delicious. I had the roast beef and my wife chose the vegetarian Wellington, and both were very, very good. Jordan behind the bar was a star, super friendly and helpful, and all the staff were lovely. We'll be back when we're in the area.

Had such a great evening there last night. The guest band, Too Easy, were really good and soon got everyone singing and dancing. The atmosphere was great. Hope they're back again soon!

I was there for two nights on a work trip, and it was a disappointing experience apart from the staff. They were outstanding, attentive and genuinely kind, and the location is excellent, with stunning views around the hotel. But I didn't get the reception or quality I expected from a four-star place. I was travelling alone and booked a single room, yet was put in a room outside the main building, behind a bar and a shop. It seemed more like staff accommodation than somewhere suitable for hotel guests. I've stayed in two- and three-star hotels with better rooms. The photos speak for themselves. Cleanliness was also poor: the mirror hadn't been cleaned, there was dirt under the bed, product stains on the shower glass and marks on the bedsheets.

We stopped for Sunday lunch and really enjoyed it. The food was delicious, service was great and it was excellent value. A big thanks to Jaygo, apologies if I've got the spelling wrong, for being so helpful and attentive. Highly recommend!
