David Russell Hall - Campus Accommodation

The room was clean, and the bathroom was too, but it got very hot without air conditioning or even a fan. The bed was uncomfortable enough to make me feel like I was at sea. It’s very basic, so don’t expect anything close to luxury. Getting to the accommodation is awkward too, especially on foot from the main reception.

The setup is convenient and everything is in good shape, with a decent amount of storage in the kitchen. Buses into town are handy. What gets excessive is the number of inspections and checks, including rooms, windows and water. There’s a daycare in the middle of the area, so screaming children can break out at random times. Everyone has to be extra quiet during exam season, yet all I hear is kids screeching. On the fun side, an ice cream truck sometimes turns up in the evening.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with plenty of pastries and cereal as well as a cooked breakfast included in the room rate. The rooms were clean and nicely presented, and the location is ideal, with easy car or bus access and not far from town. Great value, and I’d happily come back and recommend it.

Really tidy and clean place, and the apartments are nice 👌🏾
