The steak was juicy and perfectly cooked, and my partner loved the gravy. I had the crab linguine. The crab tasted fresh and was very strong, and while I really liked the chorizo with it, it didn’t balance the crab as much as I’d hoped. Still, it felt like good value for a seafood dish. We went to The Saint for our anniversary, and the classy atmosphere and phenomenal service made the evening special. Our main server was amazing, and the person who seated us was incredibly welcoming. It was fully booked and very busy, so book ahead if you’re planning dinner. The cocktails are great too, and the bar area is fun if you arrive early. I loved the French Martini. Thank you for a lovely anniversary dinner!

The service, setting and atmosphere at The Saint in St Andrews were all really good for our family get-together. We all chose from the festive menu, but the food itself was only about a 7/10. It needed more attention to detail: there was no cranberry sauce with Christmas lunch, and the pigs in blankets and stuffing were overcooked. Nobody complained at the time because no one wanted to spoil a long-awaited family reunion.

The rooms are spacious and clean, and meals at the pub have always been delicious when I’ve eaten there several times. I’ve also stayed at the hotel once, and the experience was positive overall. Meal service can be slow sometimes, though the staff are friendly and accommodating.

The Saint is right in the centre, so everything is an easy walk away. Parking wasn’t a problem for us: Argyle Street car park is just a minute away and cost a little over £4 for the day, which felt reasonable. Our room was lovely, spacious and clean, and the heated bathroom floor was a really nice extra. The staff were friendly, and for our anniversary they left a card and a bottle of Prosecco in the room. We had a lovely stay and will be back.

We had a lovely Christmas Day visit to the Saint. The seating was cosy and comfortable, the place felt very festive, and the staff were attentive. They also adapted the cocktails to suit our tastes, and they were amazing. We didn’t eat there this time, but we’ve been several times before and loved the food. The interior is lovely, and the garden is idyllic on a nice day. Highly recommend.
