Buckingham House

We’ve stayed in Mevagissey in a few different places over the past 20 years, but after this visit we’ll be coming back to Annie and Adrian’s charming B&B. Our ten-year-old daughter loved it so much she didn’t want to leave, and it was clear the other guests were just as pleased as we were. The quiet road is very close to the centre of Mevagissey, which I think is the loveliest fishing village in Cornwall. Parking was a convenient five-minute walk away and very cheap. Adrian and Annie were generous with their advice about places to visit, and our daily chats about the weather at the end of breakfast were lovely. They did all they could to make us feel relaxed and comfortable. Breakfast was hearty, generous and nicely cooked to suit our requests. The room was spacious and airy, recently decorated in a lovely turquoise scheme, and spotlessly clean. We could see the hills around the bay from the window, with the sea sparkling in the distance to the left. The beds are very comfortable, which matters a lot to me when I’m away from home. There are also many details around the building that reflect its Grade II listed heritage. We spent five amazing days there. Check-in went smoothly, and I really think we struck gold when we booked Buckingham House B&B.
