Edens Yard Backpackers

Julia and Neil made my four-day stay at the hostel feel so welcoming. Julia went the extra mile with her hospitality, and communication was excellent. I didn't really want to leave, and I'll definitely return. I can't recommend it highly enough for anyone travelling in Cornwall.

I've stayed at this hostel on my own before, and this time came with my family: my partner, me and our three boys, aged 16, 13 and 9. It worked just as well for us as a family as it did for me solo. Julia knows Cornwall so well, and her advice was really helpful when planning days out. The bathrooms are excellent and the beds very comfy. Having fires and marshmallows while listening to owls was so relaxing before bed. Waking up to horses trotting set a lovely scene in the middle of nature. We'll definitely book again.

The hosts were lovely and the service was great. The location isn't especially well connected, as it's a bit far from bus stops, though fairly near the rail. They offered train station pick-up and drop-off for a very reasonable £8, with room for four as far as I remember and plenty of luggage space. There are lockers, and if you left valuables on the communal table overnight, they'd probably still be there a week later. Breakfast and dinner were available at good prices, around £6-8. The other guests were great company too. Very clean, and I'd definitely recommend staying here if you're passing through.

We'd made a booking mistake, entirely our fault, but the hosts sorted out last-minute sleeping arrangements without any stress and were incredibly accommodating. The hostel is in a lovely, peaceful setting. The hosts are great, and the dogs and cat were very cute. I'd happily visit again. 😊
