Porthole Suites made our last-minute New Year's Eve break. We first fell in love with St Aubin 22 years ago, on our last trip to Jersey, and it was lovely to come back. We nearly treated ourselves to the local hotel for New Year's Eve, but chose Porthole Suites because of its brilliant reviews. They were well deserved, and we had a wonderful four days. The location is fantastic, with plenty of restaurants and cafes in St Aubin and a well-served bus route. Our sea-view room (6) was spotless and really comfortable. We slept like babies in the huge bed, woke up to a good-sized shower with strong pressure, and had a well-equipped kitchen and plenty of storage. They were accommodating about a later check-in and late check-out, and everyone was lovely and friendly.

Alex is a wonderful host and nothing seems too much trouble. The accommodation is comfortable and well appointed, and Porthole Suites is perfectly placed for exploring this beautiful island.

The hill up to the suites above St Aubin harbour is quite steep. It's not far, but could take some effort for anyone less mobile. Once there, you're within easy walking distance of lots of excellent restaurants and bars. Alex and family couldn't have been more welcoming or accommodating. The suites are beautiful, pristinely clean and extremely well equipped. We recently came back from another Jersey trip and chose The Porthole Suites again after a superb previous stay. It was superb once more. When we return to the island, we won't consider staying anywhere else. Quite simply perfect!

We've just had our sixth holiday at Porthole Suites, and wouldn't stay anywhere else on the island. Alex is always friendly and helpful, and the ladies who look after the suites are lovely and professional. Our bedding and towels were changed every few days, and the rooms are always spotless. Our favourite is the top-floor suite, with its beautiful bay views. The harbour, shops, restaurants and bars are only a few minutes away on foot, and the bus stop is close by if you don't bring a car. We'd highly recommend Porthole Suites and hope to enjoy many more holidays there.

The room and location were fabulous, but what’s the point if you can’t get a good night’s sleep? You can hear people talking and the TV next door. There was a staircase in our room, and it sounded like a baby elephant going up it. I don't get all the fabulous reviews.
