The Mustard Tree

Mark was a lovely, helpful host, and breakfast was delicious and included, along with parking. We stayed two nights in room 1, which was cosy, beautiful and very clean, with a lovely ocean view. The smart TV was great for YouTube at night, and there was a mini fridge and hair dryer. It’s about a 25 minute walk to St Ives, or a quick train stop, and no more than a 10 minute drive. The shower pressure was low, so washing my long hair took a bit longer, which is why I’m giving 4 stars. We’d definitely go back and recommend it.

We’ve stayed here several times over the past 15 years, mostly because of the location and comfortable accommodation. It’s about a 5 minute walk to the coast path, 10 minutes to Carbis bay beach and 30 minutes to St Ives. There’s a bus stop across the road, with very good local service. Rooms are clean and well kept with everything you need, including a comfortable bed, good electric shower, tea and coffee, and a mini fridge. Breakfast has a good choice, and the lovely host is always happy to help and offer advice.

My first night had been ruined by a dreadful hotel, so I decided to leave, even though I couldn’t get a refund for the nights I’d already booked. I was fortunate to find a room here at the last minute. Mark, the host at this family-run hotel, was amazing. He offered me juice as I checked in and shared some great local tips. He runs the place so well: it’s clean and comfortable, with thoughtful touches, and the breakfast is hearty. I’ll definitely return and recommend this B&B to friends visiting St Ives.

We had a fantastic stay at The Mustard Tree, a welcoming place from beginning to end. I’m really impressed and excited about it, and will recommend it to all my friends.
