Thurlestone Guest House

Linda and John made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and John kept us entertained with stories and useful tips on getting around. The rooms were spotless and lovely, and Linda cooked the best breakfast we've ever had, with loads of choice. This was our second visit this year, after two stays last year. We're already looking forward to coming back. Linda and Stuart. X

Carbis Bay is a quieter part of St. Ives, though it gets really busy in summer. From the house it's about a 20-minute walk to the centre, 9 minutes to the train station and 10 to the lovely, not-too-crowded beach. There's a bus stop right by the house and a big Tesco nearby. The rooms are warm and nicely decorated, with everything you need, and exceptionally clean. All the rooms are upstairs and there's no lift, so it's not accessible for disabled guests. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choices, including gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian and other dietary options. Linda and John are fantastic hosts. They helped us with questions about things to do, the quickest way to get there and what to order at local restaurants. I've never felt so welcome anywhere. Stay here if you want to feel at home and get to know Cornwall.

The rooms were really clean and the service was good. We had a lovely time, and the friendly host gave us good ideas about places to visit. It's in a good location and I'd stay here again.

The sea views from rooms 8 and 9 were lovely, and both rooms were comfortable. We enjoyed the wide breakfast choice too. It's easy to walk down to Carbis Bay beach, and there's a bus stop just two minutes away for a trip into St Ives. We stayed at Thurlestone Guest House for the second time this year. John and Linda were very friendly and welcoming, and did everything they could to make the visit memorable. Thanks to them for such a warm holiday. We'll be back again.
