Zanzibar Beach House

With the beach just across the road, we got to enjoy cocktails at sunset there each night. Zanzibar house also has a lovely covered garden out back, with a hot tub, lots of outdoor seats, and festoon lights. There were 13 of us for three nights, and everyone had an amazing time. The place is quirky, full of varied art and furnishings, but still practical and really comfortable. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, luxury toiletries and robes, and there are two extra toilets downstairs. The main kitchen and back kitchen worked brilliantly for a big gathering, with several ovens, two full-size fridges and a full-size freezer. We made plenty of use of the well-stocked cocktail gear and oversized wine fridge with its ice maker under the lounge bar. Max and Katie were so friendly and helpful, and the cake and champagne waiting when we arrived was a lovely touch. Zanzibar house is a special place for a family celebration. We can't wait to come back!

The rooms were so comfortable, and their individual names made the place feel fun and personal. There was everything we needed to put on a great celebration, and the weekend ran smoothly. The house felt warm and welcoming while still giving our large group plenty of space. Thanks to Max and Katie for making such a good setting for my mum's 60th. We couldn't have asked for a better venue. We'd happily book again and recommend it to anyone planning a memorable group event.

The owners, Max & Katie, were friendly and understanding when we had to cancel because of unforeseen circumstances. They made the cancellation straightforward and stress-free, including the refund process, unlike the pressure other places may put you under. Booking Zanzibar Bar house had been easy, and the place looks amazing. I'd recommend booking here, especially given how helpful Max & Katie were throughout.

The promenade walks and bedroom views were lovely, and being right across from the beach was a real treat. The area felt lively, with good food, live music and lots for the kids to do. The teens especially enjoyed having the loft room to themselves. We were 16 family members, from age 2 to 90, and the house worked perfectly for our reunion. There's plenty of room, with a large shared space for meals and games as well as quiet spots to relax. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the coffee machine made some of the best coffee we've had. Our host was incredibly friendly and helpful. We're already looking at booking again next year!
