We shared the lunch-only sharing board, and it was a winner. The rice pudding brulee with gingerbread ice cream was delightful, and the menu has something for everyone, including a great range of sandwiches. There was a jar of treats for our greedy flat-coated retriever too. He says thank you, and so do we. The chef is impeccable! We had lunch at te Fox & Hounds Inn today, Feb.28th, and it's the best lunch we've had in the Dales during our seven months living here. Noemi and Lauren greeted us warmly. The traditional old world pub is beautiful, inviting and dog friendly, with everyone welcome. There's ample parking and easy access. Outdoor seating is available, but in February we sat by the charming open fire. Excellent choice of real ales. We'll see you again soon.

The breakfast was spot on, and the staff were superb, welcoming and really friendly. We had drinks and dinner, then spent the evening relaxing by the roaring fire. The recently refurbished room was clean, with excellent facilities and very comfortable beds. I took my son for a last minute one night stay, and we were very happy with it. A fabulous stay, and we'd happily return or recommend it. Five stars from us. Thank you!

The pub has great beer and food, and the staff are friendly. We didn't stay there, though plenty of people do. It's a great starting point for walks.

We stayed in Starbotton for a week at Hilltop Barn and went down to Fox and Hound for dinner one night. The food was delicious and the staff were so welcoming. We enjoyed it enough to go back for dinner on our last night, and it didn't disappoint. It was lovely sitting outside for a little drink during the day.

We had lunch for three last Sunday for a birthday. The food was very good, and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. Service was great and friendly too. Excellent all round, thank you!
