We had a lovely evening in the restaurant on our first night. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection, and the staff were lovely and attentive. The pub, people, and setting are beautiful, and we’ll be back. Everyone was so welcoming, and the room was well done and accommodating. My only issue was the bed, which was 4' 6" and much too small for me and my husband. A 5-foot bed would have been better. Also, please upgrade the toilet paper to quilted, a small thing, but I’d appreciate it!

We dropped in on spec for lunch and will definitely return. The food was delicious, and our fish was perfectly cooked. There’s a good menu range, including plant-based, vegetarian, and gluten-free choices. The service was excellent, and the woman serving was full of energy and professionalism as she handled the bar, table orders, food from the kitchen, and clearing up. The room had a lovely atmosphere, with a wood-burning stove and characterful decor. I was especially pleased that we could have a conversation without music blaring from the speakers.

The Sea Trout team looked after our group of 27 so well for my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary lunch. We arranged a pre-order, and the kitchen put together a delicious menu that everyone enjoyed. I had the pork belly, perfectly cooked, soft and crispy, followed by an amazing sticky toffee pudding. The whole celebration went perfectly, and everyone was really happy.

Our accommodation was lovely, and the food was fabulous. The landlord was really helpful and took good care of us. I’d certainly recommend this charming old pub with its character and charm.

What a fantastic meal! It was my first visit, but I’ll definitely be back. The food was exceptional, the service was great, and the surroundings were beautiful. Five stars doesn’t feel like enough!
