We had such a lovely stay at Sladesdown Farm and would definitely come back. Esther was a perfect host and made us feel very welcome. The room was comfortable and clean, and the homemade flapjacks were a really nice touch. Breakfast was substantial, and nothing was too much trouble. I’d recommend Sladesdown Farm to anyone looking for somewhere quiet and clean to stay.

The farmhouse setting is a real country break, with green fields, birds, a horse, and lots of ducks around. You wake to the sounds of nature, and on a clear night there are loads of stars. There’s a narrow stretch of road, but we never had to reverse, and the roads are no different from country lanes generally. Good restaurants are only a short drive away. The B&B is one of the best I’ve stayed in, and it has a lovely story: Esther runs the place that used to belong to her mum. The rooms are clean, cosy, and spacious. Esther’s breakfast is amazing, with farm eggs, fresh apple juice from nearby orchards, and homemade jams. The homemade flapjacks waiting to welcome us made my day. Thank you for the hospitality, Esther. We’d highly recommend a stay!

Esther is a brilliant host who welcomes you into her home and puts you at ease straight away. The farmhouse grounds are impeccably kept, and everything was completely clean. Breakfast was faultless, with fresh food, homemade preserves and bread (which was amazing), and even the coffee tasted great. Sladesdown Farm stood out straight away when we were looking for a short break, and it turned out to be absolutely faultless. It’s a remote farmhouse surrounded by farmland and rolling hills. Our room was spacious, the bed super comfortable, and the view so refreshing. I’d highly recommend Esther’s hospitality for a B&B in the area. We’ll definitely return. Thank you, Esther and family, from Jenny and Otis.

The lanes are narrow as you approach the farm, but only for a short stretch, since it’s just off the A38. It’s a handy base for getting onto Dartmoor or heading to any of the many nearby beach towns. Ashburton is just across the A38. For a quirky little town, Totnes is worth a visit for its independent shops, bohemian characters along the High Street, and historic places. The hill is a bit steep, but there are tea houses, coffee shops, and the occasional pub along the way for regular breaks. This place is absolutely stunning, and by quite a margin our favourite place to stay, even though we travel far and wide for work. The B&B rooms were amazing, and Esther, the landlady, couldn’t have been more helpful. She left us homemade jam, bread, and flapjacks to take with us and remember our stay.

Our room is enormous and really comfortable, and our hostess is a lovely lady who couldn’t do enough for us. The house is beautiful and the setting is fabulous. I can’t recommend it highly enough. The nearest town, Ashburton, is lovely, lively, and has a very friendly, supportive community.
