We know the village well and would recommend it for exploring the coast, countryside, Dales, Moors and Howardian hills, as well as York or Malton. There are good bus services, an award-winning community store, excellent fish and chips, a pub and a Chinese restaurant that’s also a pub. The lodge is set in lovely countryside, and the hosts are friendly and welcoming. It’s quiet and well equipped, with two good-sized bedrooms and a large living and kitchen area. Spacious, warm and comfortable. We strongly recommend both the lodge and the location.

The owners are fantastic, and the village is lovely. A fantastic place to stay if you’re visiting the area, and one I’d recommend to anyone.
