A great place for a holiday. The ground floor bedroom and shower worked well for the grandparents, with more rooms tucked into the upstairs roof space. Recommended.

The neighbourhood felt really safe, and there was loads of parking. We slept well in the comfy beds, and the location was perfect. The host and the house were just as great. I want to live here, it was all perfect.

The garden was a good size for the children, and the host was friendly. There were six of us, and the clean, well-equipped accommodation made a brilliant base for exploring Scotland. The welcome book had lots of useful information. It was also handy to have a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer while travelling with children. Both showers stayed nice and hot. We had an amazing holiday and would definitely come back, though there were a few small things that could be better. The kitchen had plenty of pans, cutlery and bowls, but we couldn't find space for the dry ingredients we bought to cook all our meals. Some shelving beside the freezer in its cupboard would help. The table was too small for six to eat comfortably, even though there were six chairs, and there seems to be room for a bigger one. The upstairs bedrooms got stuffy and hot, even with the windows open, so we ended up buying a fan. That's probably part of having loft rooms, but providing fans might help. The blinds also let in too much light, especially in the front bedroom: the sun stayed up until at least 10pm and came up again by 5am. The back upstairs room had the same issue, though its blind blocked more light. In the upstairs bathroom, the hand towel had to go on the radiator across the room by the shower. A hook near the sink or toilet roll holder would make more sense, since we dripped water on the floor fetching it.

Check-in and checkout were easy, and there’s free parking. The home is beautifully finished, with everything within walking distance and the city centre just nearby. We had a three-night stay at this lovely place, at a good price.

We’ve just had a three-day stay, and the accommodation was first class. It’s five stars from me, and I’d book again without hesitation. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we return. Scotland’s a brilliant place to stay, and the owners should be proud.
