I stayed in April 2026 and found the rooms and location solid, with a good breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. I’d also left a small item behind by accident, and they went out of their way to get it back to me. That kind of service feels rare these days, and I really appreciated it.

Breakfast was hot, there was plenty to choose from, and the food was amazing. My family and I had a really lovely stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were so friendly, nothing felt like too much trouble. A big shout-out to Emma on reception and the lovely head of housekeeping. I heard the hotel is being refurbished next year, and I can’t wait to come back.

The breakfast was lovely, and the whole stay worked perfectly for our bridal get-ready and sleepover. There were about ten of us, so the extra space and great lighting in the bridal room were ideal. We’d originally booked room 1, a lovely double, but when we asked at reception for more chairs, a very kind woman upgraded us to the bridal room at no charge. Thanks so much for everything. It was quiet and I slept comfortably. The room was clean and worked fine, though the decor felt like it hadn’t changed since 1992, a bit like staying at your nan’s. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the price was fairly low for the area. It’s just over a mile from the train station. I’d stay again for a night if I was nearby.
