At £8 each, it was a great deal for the one night we needed. The room was very basic and cheap, but clean and tidy, with a kettle and fresh towels. There’s a shared kitchen too, though it was missing some things and not everything had been washed properly, so I wouldn’t want to cook there. The toilets were fine, and we skipped having a shower. We were woken by people shouting in the middle of the night, so I’m not sure I’d stay longer. If simple comforts make you happy and you’re not fussy, it does the job.

The staff were friendly, and there was a cute cat at reception. I enjoyed my stay. It’s a one-star place that does what it promises, with clean, well-kept rooms designed to use space efficiently. There’s a proper kitchen guests can use for free. Bathrooms and showers are shared, but I never had trouble with queues. There aren’t many sockets, and the free WiFi was slow and temperamental. You get what you pay for.

The reception was staffed by a crane driver who was great to talk to and very helpful. The shared bathrooms were small but clean. My room was a decent size, with a sizeable TV, and the bed was comfortable enough for the price. There was plenty of secure parking, too. Very cheap accommodation.

The staff and manager were really nice, and said they’re working on improving the hotel with new facilities. I also liked the garden, with its water feature and flowers in pots and baskets. The room was clean and quiet for a good price, with free car park parking, a sink, a large mirror and a kettle, which is handy for travellers and walkers. The toilets and showers are along the corridor, only a few metres away, so bring a dressing gown. There’s a large TV in the room too.
