The walk to Dunnottar castle from here is stunning, and it’s easy to explore Stone heaven on foot. The B&B family were helpful and knew the area well. The rooms are a good size and private, though the mattress could be more comfortable. It was fine for one night. Breakfast is self-service and could be better. I missed having eggs and espresso, so if protein and good coffee matter to you, you may want to book breakfast elsewhere. The location is great.

The host made us feel so welcome during our short visit. Our room was quaint, and it was lovely to have somewhere to wander around after hours.

The owner was really nice, and breakfast was good. The room was small but lovely, and the toilet was nice too. It got very hot, and the window only opened a little. You can hear a snoring neighbour very clearly because it’s an old building, so bring earplugs. Avoid the ground floor if you want a lie-in, since the dining room and kitchen are above you.

We got a warm welcome and a nice breakfast at this sweet little cottage, which has seven small rooms. The view was lovely, and although the walls are thin, it was quiet at night. The family luxury room was very small, right under the roof, and the decor wasn’t our style. The bathroom was tiny as well. It’s well placed for walks around town and the harbour, and was clean and fine for one night.
