Stornoway Bed and Breakfast

The breakfast was excellent, and all the thoughtful little things made it clear the host really cares, from the flowers and tea and coffee to the cookies. This was the best place we’ve ever stayed in Scotland. Our room was lovely, beautifully arranged, comfortable, and very clean. The beds were comfy, and the room smelled fresh with a subtle perfume.

The welcome and service from Carl were excellent, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The Stables Self Catering turned out to be a wonderful surprise, bright, warm, welcoming, and extremely clean. It had everything you could possibly need while self-catering, and Carl is certainly an asset to the business.

Breakfast was fresh and imaginative, with plenty of choice, vegetarian options, and extras like homemade cake. Carl and Birgitta are the friendliest staff and clearly care about good service. My room was up in the roof of this historic building, so it got a bit chilly, but the hosts had thought of that and the portable heater warmed it nicely. The room had a comfortable bed, a kettle and coffee machine, and a bottle of the very good chilled tap water. The separate bathroom downstairs had a nice hot shower, and there was a guest fridge on a lower floor for leftover takeaways. It’s a very comfortable place in a great spot, just a short stroll from the ferry terminal. I found on-street parking outside without any trouble and would stay here again.

Briggite made us feel very welcome. Our room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. On-street parking was fine, and the location is central.
