The place looks fancy, but this was easily the worst stay of our trip. We couldn't sleep because of what we were told was the kitchen extractor fan. It was roaring until 1.45 am, like someone vacuuming in the next room, then started again at 7 am. I called reception around midnight. The night porter came up and offered to move us, but asking me and my 72 year old dad to get up, get dressed, pack and change rooms at that hour wasn't suitable. He said the fan was on a timer and would stop in 5-10 minutes. It kept going for another two hours. I've had five hours of sleep and have a four-hour drive ahead of me. This was our most expensive accommodation and the last night of the trip, so it was a terrible way to end the holiday. Avoid, avoid, avoid. I spoke to the duty manager this morning and got a line about not being able to refund us because we booked through Expedia. I don't believe that for a second and will contact them directly. It felt like a computer says no situation. The guy showed no gumption and even less interest in sorting things out. The hostel on Barra cost £85 for a twin room and gave us a much better night's sleep.

The staff made our four-night visit to explore part of the island much more enjoyable. Our bed was extremely comfortable, even bigger than our own. We'd have preferred a walk-in shower. Breakfast and dinner were exceptional. Thank you to the team.

The room was excellent, with a big immaculate shower and lots of luxury touches. There was a cozy fire and a well-stocked bar, and the seafood was the best. The staff were genuinely caring and so helpful. Excellent value for money.

The restaurant food and service were faultless, with an excellent menu. Rooms are spacious and comfortable in this modern, well-appointed hotel. It’s on the edge of central Stornoway, but still easy to reach the town centre. The car park is large, though some locals seem to cut through it to avoid a nearby set of lights.

We had a family meal here, with one gluten-free diner among us. The food was lovely, and our waitress was great. She read back all our orders to make sure they were right, and the service was quick. The food was well presented, with good gluten-free choices, though I thought there could be more gluten-free desserts.
