Wyck Hill House Hotel And Spa

I booked my wife and a friend a night away from the kids, with dinner and a couple of spa treatments. They both had a wonderful time and were especially blown away by the food. It was incredible quality, with compliments to the chef, and the portions actually filled them up. They both really enjoyed their treatments and want to come back soon. The room was larger than expected, clean and tidy, and the grounds were stunning, though the cold and snow kept my wife from exploring more. The staff were helpful while I booked, made several changes without making me feel like a bother, and were attentive during the stay. The birthday chocolates after dinner were a lovely touch. Neither came home with anything negative to say. I can’t recommend it enough. Thank you!

The staff made the weekend special. So many went above and beyond, always smiling, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. The food was excellent, drinks were well priced, and breakfast was superb. The hotel itself is lovely and warm, and our rooms were really comfortable. If I had to pick something, some corridors and stairwells could do with a bit of care. Thank you all for a special weekend.

The new owners offered discounted room rates when they couldn’t accommodate our group of 10 with the full range of amenities advertised at booking, so we decided to go ahead. We’d stayed here 10 years ago, when it was a stately home, and it’s set in large grounds. The new owners had decided to sell the property, and the building was due for a total refurbishment. It showed: the rooms and public areas looked tired in decor and design. Our booked evening meal wasn’t available, so we were on bed and breakfast only. Staff service was professional, and breakfast was adequate, but several items were missing from the plate. We were told they were having trouble with the gas hobs. We had a nice time eating at some local pubs. The hotel was comfortable, if a bit shabby in places. I might try it again in another 10 years.

We had a very enjoyable stay in a beautiful part of the world. It’s a fine old building, and the staff were lovely and attentive. Our room was clean and comfortable, though the TV kept cutting out. I feel bad that I didn’t mention it. Dinner was good, but they’d run out of the included House White, so we had to choose another wine and pay the difference. Breakfast was excellent. Recommended!
