We spent two nights at Neptunes Rest in Stranraer while doing things around the area, expecting just somewhere to sleep. It turned out better than that. The staff were incredibly friendly, the rooms comfortable, and there were good TV options. Breakfast was incredible. We’ll stay here again.

We got here late after missing a train and taking a long taxi ride, then found out our booked B and B couldn’t fit three people. That wasn’t the B and B’s fault, they quickly found us somewhere else. This place took us in and felt wonderfully niche, modern but still warm. The breakfast next door was amazing. 10/10.

The hosts were so welcoming, friendly and down to earth, and my room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was incredibly tasty. It was great value, with Stranraer town centre just five minutes away. Even on a bank Holiday weekend, I was very pleased with my stay. Hopefully I’ll be back soon!

We only stayed briefly because we had a ferry the next morning, but the room was clean and lovely, with a nice sea view. The location was perfect, and Emma, who owns the place, was welcoming and friendly. I wish we’d had time for breakfast, as we’d heard good things about it, but our ferry meant an early start. We’d definitely stay again.

Emma is a lovely, hospitable owner, and the service was friendly throughout. My en-suite single room was nice, though very small, which didn’t bother me. The bathroom was exclusively mine for the night, but it was on the landing, so it wasn’t really en-suite. Breakfast was good and honest, and the waitress was smiley and pleasant. Clean, pleasant and worth the money. I only review places that really impress me or really disappoint me, and this one was a very pleasant stay.
