Room 13 was roomy, with a lovely view over the weir and some original beams. The room was cold and took a long time to warm up, though, and the furniture felt a bit flat-pack. Some of the lamps didn't work, and the bathroom's 80s decor didn't fit the hotel. The Bramley toiletries were a nice touch, and the homemade biscuits were delicious. Tea and coffee were provided too. We had dinner at the restaurant during our one-night visit with friends. There was plenty to choose from, the food was tasty, and the bar and restaurant have plenty of character. The hotel sits in a picturesque spot, with the bridge looking over the weir and river. We were told the large outdoor seating area gets busy in summer. Breakfast was a letdown. The fruit and pastries were almost gone when we arrived and took a while to replenish. Our cooked breakfast and drinks took ages, and it seemed the order hadn't gone through, so it was placed again. When it arrived, it was slightly wrong but corrected. The friendly staff seemed overwhelmed, and we had to ask three times for water at dinner. Communication could be better too: our breakfast order was missed, and we got two coffees when we'd only asked for one refill. It was a nice hotel, but needs some improvements to meet the standard you'd expect in the Cotswolds.

We were celebrating my husband's birthday, and everything felt just right. The food was tasty, hot, and nicely presented, and the setting would suit a private celebration or wedding. The bathroom had fluffy white towels and luxury toiletries, and there was a coffee pod machine. Tom and the whole team were welcoming from the moment we arrived, with warm smiles and genuine courtesy. Ben, Charlie, and Nicky deserve a special mention. They clearly work happily together. Thanks to you all, we'll see you again soon. Alison and Uwe

The rooms were spotless, with gorgeous views, lovely smelling toiletries, charming beams, and a piping hot shower. Breakfast was a bit lukewarm and the choice was limited, but they kindly made me a sausage sandwich that wasn't on the menu. One drawback was last orders at 10:30 pm, which felt early for hotel residents. When my family asked for help getting a taxi, they weren't helped.

Dinner was reasonably priced, with a broad menu and wine list, and the restored mill has excellent rooms plus a lively, welcoming bar and restaurant. Staff were attentive and charming the whole time. I stayed for one night while visiting the area and found little to fault. A tip for arriving by car: if Google Maps sends you down the small spur road just northwest of the hotel, don't take it, as it leads to the kitchen's back yard. The car park is off Station Rd, with plenty of room. Just remember to register your car at Reception.

Lauren made arranging our family Christmas dinner party easy, and the bar staff were great. They handled gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and kids' meals, and welcomed dogs. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely time and hope to come back soon. The upstairs room was spacious and beautiful, and the festive menu was delicious. Service was wonderful too. Thanks!
