The place could have done with a major overhaul years ago. On weekends the location gets very loud, and you need to open the window if you don't want to overheat. We booked an accessible room, but the bathroom and toilet weren't usable for a wheelchair user who can't walk. The grab handles were at odd heights and in strange places, as if they had been put up randomly just to claim accessibility. There was no shower or wet room, and even transferring to the toilet was difficult. We left after the first of our two nights and moved to the Premier Inn across the road, which has a decent wet room.

The room cards stopped working twice in one day, and at one point I got locked outside. The doors lock after 10pm, so the card they give you is the only way in, and I had to call the desk. The rooms were filthy, with stains all over the floor and curtains. Wi-Fi is free for only 30 minutes before they charge, and parking in the hotel's privately owned car park costs extra. I'm not coming back. Avoid at all costs.

It was comfortable enough for one night, but it wasn't a cheap stay. Parking and Wi-Fi access cost extra, and a pet adds £20 per night, so I won't be back. Sometimes it really is best to stick with places you've stayed before. I forgot to mention, if weed is your preferred aroma, the corridors have plenty of it.

Clean and tidy, and the location is great. It is good value for money, though there's a little noise from the main road and nearby main drag. The bathrooms need updating.

Room 231 was a good size. A couple of chairs would have been useful, and there was no toilet brush. The shower's soap dispenser would work better at the other end.
