Beachcomber Holiday Apartments

The place was warm, with comfortable beds, and the keysafe was handy. It's in a good location, though with a large car I'd suggest parking on the side streets: pull up out front to unload, then move the car. Inside, it was newly decorated and clean. The shower was a bit grubby, but worked well and had plenty of hot water. A few more than four mugs and some kitchen tongs would be useful. Little things.

We emailed the contact when we arrived and were ignored. Parking is another problem: there are six flats but space for only four cars, despite the listing saying parking is available. The flat felt very dated and could be great, but really isn't as it is. There are too many problems to list away. The WiFi in Flat 3 only works for one mobile, and only in the hallway, not in the rooms. The shower temperature can't be controlled and is dangerously hot, so be careful, especially with a small child. The kettle leaks, the shower has mold and needs a proper clean, the bedroom radiator doesn't work, and the flat has no temperature control with radiators that aren't enough. There's nowhere to hang wet coats, the lounge blind won't roll shut, and the kitchen has a plastic tablecloth. The toilet basin has no hot water. There's a dirty mark on the wardrobe door, the glasses and pots are dirty and chipped, the cutlery is badly stained, and some utensils are melted. There were no dishwasher tablets or bathroom soap left.

We booked at the last minute on 14 May for three nights. The apartment was stunning, spotlessly clean and tidy, with a lovely owner. It's close to the beach, and having parking outside was handy with a pushchair. We'd stay again, highly recommended. 5 *****

We stayed in Flat 3 in July 2017 as a family of four, with children aged 16 and 14. WiFi mattered to them, but it only worked on the first floor, and there was no parking place. The woman who welcomed us was very friendly, and the flat was reasonably clean.
