Cwtsh Hostel

We had a private room with our three-year-old at Cwtsh Hostel, and it was comfortable, clean and welcoming. The place feels relaxed, safe and well run, with an atmosphere that works for all kinds of travellers. Staff were friendly and helpful, the facilities were good, and it was excellent value. We'd gladly come back and recommend it.

I came to Swansea for a gig on Saturday, about a 10-minute walk from the hostel. The woman at the desk was kind and showed me around before I left my things in the room and went for a walk. A shared dorm was £31, which was really cheap, and luckily I had enough to pay. I started in a top bunk, but it was so high that I struggled and nearly had a panic attack getting down on Sunday morning. The woman and a man I assumed worked there helped me, and I was able to move to a lower bunk in another dorm. There were more people in that room, and it was by a window, so I could hear people outside until I fell asleep. The person at reception the next morning was helpful too. I spent a while in the lounge and kitchen waking up, then returned the entry cards with the passcodes and said thanks and goodbye. I might save up for a private room next time, which I think was around £85. That's still quite cheap compared with other places. I think I'll come back. It was a nice change from what I'm used to, and the central location was really handy. Thanks, Ted.

The room was cosy, though there was quite a bit of dust under the bed. It's well placed near the city centre, train station and nightlife.

Friendly, kind staff. The single room was just right for a quick work stopover, especially if you need to be in and out fast. It's basic, but does what you need, and the price and location are both great. You get what you expect, and I'd definitely recommend it for that kind of stay.
