The beach is right beside it, which is a great location. But I wouldn't stay here again. Check-in took a while when I arrived late, which can happen, but I was told the £50 deposit wouldn't be charged unless there was something wrong with the room. A few minutes later the money had been taken from my account. It was pending, but I still couldn't spend it until it was sorted, and I don't know how long that would take. The key card didn't work either, then I found hairs on the towel and in the bathtub when I went to shower. The room smelled bad, and the covers were so itchy I slept in my sleeping bag. The small problems added up to a bad stay. Personally, I'd rather buy a £30 tent at Decathlon and pitch it on the beach than sleep here again. I hope they improve, because the location is too good for this level of quality.

The food was a real surprise. I had fresh tuna with salad one night and pizza another, and both were excellent. Hotel meals are often pricey and poor, but the bar and restaurant food here was outstanding. The evening bar felt cosy and welcoming too, with a friendly atmosphere that's unusual for a chain hotel. Staff in the bar and at breakfast were lovely, and the reception, bar and restaurant all felt welcoming. Rates were competitive, and the location is excellent, right by the beach and about a five-minute walk from loads of bars and restaurants in the town centre. I read the AI-generated review, and it was accurate. The rooms were spacious and looked nice, although the toilet flush needed replacing. I nearly rated it two or three stars because there was no charging plug beside the bed. That's a terrible setup when you want to sit in bed and watch TV or work on your computer or phone. Reception staff were polite and efficient, though I would've liked a warmer smile. Four out of five, and I'll definitely come back. Very pleasant for a chain hotel.

The location was convenient, which was a plus. But the cleanliness let the stay down: one pillow smelled very damp, another smelled strongly of feet, and I had to call reception at bedtime for fresh pillowcases. The receptionist didn't apologise, and neither did anyone when the replacements arrived. It felt dismissive and left me wondering whether other parts of the room had been cleaned properly.

Rhian and her team were completely responsive to what we needed and helped make our conference a success. The venue is right on the beach, with access to the main road, and the location is superb. The rooms, service, food and drink were all top notch. I highly recommend it for a conference.
