We had a wonderful Sunday roast lunch as a group of 20, adults and children. Our marquee was heated on a chilly morning, and the Landlord made sure the wheelchair could get through easily. The two charming waitresses handled the order efficiently and were happy to help with anything. There was a great choice of roasts: beef, pork, lamb, turkey, gammon, or veggie. It was one of the best I’ve had in and around Swindon, with a full plate and extra vegetables or gravy available on request. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Heart in Hand. Lovely staff and location too. Thank you.

The pub had a lovely, warm feel when we arrived, and we were welcomed in, seated quickly, and served promptly. The food and drinks looked great and were enjoyable. It’s a busy, well-established place, and the owner was wearing a fabulous Pubfather T-shirt. Thanks for Sunday lunch.

The gravy came plentifully, and they even offered more for free. The cauliflower cheese was especially good, too. My family, who are serious about roast dinners and food, recommended this place, and it was my first visit. That roast was the best I've had in Swindon, or anywhere, really. The portions were generous, the price reasonable, and the food fresh and homemade. Staff were attentive and genuinely nice. The area is hilly, but makes for a pleasant walk before or after dinner. Roast fans should give it a try.

The nuggets were a hit, with most of the girls saying they liked them better than McDonald's, and the adults agreed. Claire and Darren helped me sort out tea for 12 Brownie Guides at a sleepover up the road. Darren talked me through the choices when I visited, and we picked chicken nuggets, pizza and chips, with carrot and cucumber sticks for everyone. It was delicious. A big thank you from 1st Abbey Meads Brownies, we really enjoyed it and will be back next time.

We only came in for a light lunch, but the burgers were huge and we managed to finish them. The owners made us feel very welcome. I'd come back.
