Breakfast was £14 and came with continental options as well as a full hot breakfast. The staff were welcoming and polite, and I really enjoyed my stay. The rooms felt cosy and warm, with lovely antique furniture and lots of inviting spots to settle in with a book and a glass of wine. I’d recommend it for a stop in Tain.

The manager/owner was engaging and full of knowledge. We only had one night, but loved it. The room was quiet, had lovely facilities, and the place is very near the Glenmorangie distillery. Good food, and breakfast was a great start to the day.

The staff were wonderful and clearly worked hard. We had a spacious room with antique furniture, and enjoyed two tasty meals at good prices. Breakfast was lovely in the sunny dining room, served by a friendly member of staff. We were pleasantly surprised by Mansfield castle, especially after reading some very unwarranted negative comments. We had a positive experience from the start and wished we could have stayed longer.

Dinner was good, though breakfast was very basic and I’d skip that option. The lawn was nice, and being near Dunrobin castle, which is a must visit place, was a plus. It was an erstwhile castle, so getting to experience that was pretty cool.

We had a New Years Eve meal here and everything was excellent. There was a good choice on the menu, the staff were very nice, and parking was great. Couldn’t fault a thing.
