The restaurant food was fantastic, and there are lots of lovely walking routes nearby for taking the dogs out. We had a great stay in one of the chalets, which was spacious, clean and had beautiful views. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. I especially enjoyed the gym and the pool and sauna, a real treat with everything you need.
The coast view is absolutely brilliant. Whether you own a place here, are on holiday, or have just popped in for a coffee or meal at the on-site cafe, the Bucket and Spade, what’s not to like? I’ve read some negative reviews, but there are always two sides to every story.
Be careful: you could book a three-bedroom chalet and end up “upgraded” to a two-bedroom caravan. South West Holiday Parks has a very broad “alterations” clause in its terms and conditions, letting them change your allocated accommodation on arrival or during your stay as long as it is supposedly of a similar or higher standard. Other reviews show they do use this clause. A two-bedroom caravan may count as “similar or higher” than a three-bedroom chalet, but in my view it’s too risky for a large family or anyone used to a higher standard.
The signature lodge was beautiful, with stunning views, lovely furnishings and everything we needed. We felt relaxed straight away and will miss the peace and quiet. The on-site restaurant was great too, with excellent-quality food at good value. It was our first visit, and definitely won’t be our last.
We had an amazing, relaxing week at Coastview and have already booked our yearly Shaldon stay. The accommodation was immaculate and had everything needed for a comfortable visit. The grounds and landscaping were stunning, and I loved the Agypanthus! The location is fabulous, with the restaurant and pool right on your doorstep. See you next year.
