Breakfast at The Stanage was a lovely start to our long drive: egg, sausage, bacon, hash brown, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast and a fresh pot of coffee, plus cereals, fruit and yoghurt to choose from. Hazel had asked what we’d like and what time, and we went down at 8am. The night before, she’d given us ideas for dinner nearby, so we went to TGI Fridays at the shopping centre, then tried Mecca Bingo. We were novices, but had fun with the helpful staff and won £100, which wasn’t bad for first-timers. We arrived around 4.30 on 28th June 17, and Hazel gave us a warm welcome, showed us to our room and offered us a drink. She made fresh coffee in a cafetière and brought cookies. We stayed in room 3, which had a wet room, and I had a look at the other rooms too. They were beautiful, all with private bathrooms. It’s an amazing, beautiful B&B and we’d highly recommend it. If our road trip brings us this way again, we’d definitely stay. Thank you Hazel for a wonderful stay. Andrea & Tom.
