We dropped in for lunch on the spur of the moment, and the landlady managed to fit us in. The menu had lots of options, including local game, and the fresh French onion soup smelled delicious. We both chose chicken pie and chips, and it was really tasty. We thought it was good value for the quality and would definitely come back.

Two open fires, a lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, good food and generous portions. The car park was full for Sunday lunch on a quiet January, which says a lot about the pub. We’ll definitely come back when we’re in the area.

We had a lovely lunch with friends today. Everyone’s meal was delicious, the portions were more than generous, and the staff were so friendly. It’s rare to eat out these days and leave without feeling disappointed. Happy Christmas to everyone at The Plough, and thank you 🌲⛄🤗

Lunch with friends today was excellent. Everything tasted so good and was beautifully presented. It brought back memories, and I’m glad to see it in professional hands. The landlady was really helpful and found us a table even though we hadn’t booked. It’s a very well run pub, with a great menu and good quality food at fair prices. Our beer battered cod and chips and Chicken , ham and leak pie were both very good, with very generous portions. I had the bread and butter pudding for dessert, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Excellent evening meal. We’d definitely return. Well done, everyone!
