The room was spotless, warm and had a very comfortable bed. It came with a kettle, fridge, hair dryer and ironing board, and the breakfast basket brought to us was lovely, especially the hot bacon, sausage and egg bap. This was my first stay, and the host gave us a warm, friendly welcome. I’d highly recommend it.

Breakfast baskets were outstanding, everything cooked just right. Joe welcomed us at reception, gave us all the details we needed and was happy to bring extra hangers when we asked. Our room, Room 2, had plenty of space and facilities, and the bed was very comfortable. It was a perfect temperature for sleeping. The room was cleaned every day, with the bed made well, towels, bins and cups cleaned, and condiments replenished. There were plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits too. The rooms are high quality and good value. I can’t recommend this hotel enough, and we’ll stay again. Thanks to all the staff for an incredible stay!

I’ve stayed a few times and will certainly come again. The hotel is lovely and clean, the rooms are spotless, and the views over South Beach are fantastic. The owner is a lovely, friendly and helpful man.

We booked three days and two nights, but left without checking in. The weather was awful, and we might have stayed if the Strathmore had been somewhere pleasant to relax. It wasn’t. There’s no shared space for sitting or having breakfast, and nowhere in the room to sit and unwind. It’s a room-only B&B, so I don’t think it should call itself a hotel.
