Abbey Cottage

A great, quirky hotel. It’s dated, sure, but that suits Tewkssbury perfectly. It’s comfortable, the owners are lovely, and the staff are great. Breakfast was fine, with a veggie option too, and having a car park is a real plus. We’ve already booked another stay.

The Abbey Hotel feels like a rare reminder of what matters in an era of globalisation that can seem so uniform and soulless. I’m truly grateful for it. Keep up the excellent work 👍🏾

Being able to leave the car at the hotel when we arrived around lunchtime was really handy. We walked around Tewkesbury, with the shops and eateries nearby and the theatre about a 10-minute walk away, where we were going that evening. The staff were lovely and friendly, and the owner was very helpful. Our room was clean and practical, a little dated but warm and charming. We slept well without noise and had a lovely hot shower in the morning. We’re having a super breakfast now in the welcoming dining room. Great value for money, and we’d definitely stay again.

The room was a decent size and basic, but had all the things you’d want. The shower was fine, breakfast was a good full English, and there’s parking round the back. My only gripe was that the top blanket smelled a little musty. I do have a very strong sense of smell, though, and I’d stay again.
