The music and atmosphere were great, and everyone was lovely. We had a wonderful evening with friends from near the village. The bartender was really friendly and made very nice drinks.

I came back out of season, staying in my van in the village over Christmas, and wandered around, including a visit to Striding Arches. The place has a real pulse. I had a drink with some locals and couldn't have met a more welcoming bunch. The staff were once again so helpful. I’ll be back more often. The first time, I was passing through Moniaive and stopped in. It’s a welcoming place with brilliant, friendly staff and a great beer selection, tucked away in beautiful countryside. I live a good three hours away, but will definitely return. Highly recommended, and I’m sorry five stars is all I can give.

I could see they serve food, and there seemed to be a good choice of drinks. It was my first visit, with friends who live in the village, and the locals made us feel welcome. The atmosphere was great.

The village was full of music and laughter during the 2018 annual Folk Festival, and my wife and I had a great weekend here. It was busy, but Tim still took time to welcome us. The pub has character, though it could do with a bit of tidying up. Our room was warm, the facilities were sufficient, and breakfast was provided each morning.

We stop in for a pint and a chat with the landlord whenever we're passing. It's a lovely traditional Scottish pub, right in the middle of the village. A bit rough around the edges, but it has a genuine heart. And at £2.50 for a pint of Fosters, what's not to like?
