The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful, and the room was nice. They'd kindly prepared a takeaway breakfast because we told them we'd be leaving early. Getting out was awkward, though. The fire exit led to the pub's smoking area, and since we left before it opened, we had to go around the side. The gate was open despite having a combination lock, so anyone could walk in, and bins blocked the way out. In the room, the TV remote batteries had died, so I couldn't switch the TV off. We were told it would shut itself off after four hours, but the TV guide kept coming back, and I had to unplug it from behind the set. The wardrobe was too high to reach, and the heated towel rail stayed on constantly, making the room very hot.

What a nice pub. The Tribute was lovely, and I really appreciate a well-kept real ale. We didn't have time to eat, but would like to come back and try the food. The staff were so friendly. I'll definitely return when I'm in the earlies m area.

The food was great, and the bar and restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. The accommodation looked lovely and felt very secure. Sadly, the bed wasn't fit for purpose, and the broken window made it hard to get the room to a comfortable temperature for sleeping.

We spent two midweek nights at this country pub. There was no entertainment booked while we were there, so we can only speak to the peaceful, pleasant atmosphere. Our room was clean and modern. We were in room 2 at the front, but traffic noise wasn't a problem. We were warmly welcomed, and the food was good. There was a reasonable choice of vegetarian dishes, more than at many pubs, and both the meals and the accommodation were well priced. Breakfast options were modest, but the portions were good. We'd seen some less complimentary reviews, but management must have acted on them, because our experience was excellent. The stairs to the rooms are reached from outside at the back of the pub, so this won't suit anyone with mobility issues. We'd stay again when we're in the area.
