The Christmas DJ was just right, and the team were warm, kind and professional all evening. We had 70 guests for the NNUH Cardiology Christmas Party at Oaklands on 13 December. The room's mix of table sizes gave it a restaurant feel, and the food was tasty and came out without a hitch. We'd definitely return.

We stayed overnight after a Christmas meal with a large group. The room was clean and nicely equipped, and the Oak bar had a good range of drinks at fair prices. The food went down well, including with the vegan and celiac guests, who were catered for. The staff were clearly rushed off their feet but still good fun. We'll definitely be back.

The staff were lovely, friendly and polite, and the Sunday lunch was a real treat. Those Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes were beautiful, and everything tasted excellent. A lovely time all round.

The waitress saw the meal herself, but there was no goodwill offer when we paid. I ordered lasagna and, after a wait of around 25 minutes, it arrived dry and burnt in spots. It didn't even fill the small dish, and there was just a tiny bit of salad with it. The waitress offered to get another, but my partner already had his different order and I didn't want to wait any longer. Maybe we caught the chef on a bad day.

The Lodge was warm and comfortable, with a well-equipped separate bedroom and a large living room. Emma at reception gave excellent service, and the bar had a huge selection of drinks and wines. It's a lovely part of Norwich with a village feel. I'd happily come back.
