We still love this place and have been coming every year for a long time. We recently visited to look into buying a caravan here, but the rules for teenagers felt like too much. They couldn't play pool because they're under 18 and weren't allowed in the room without us, but our toddler wasn't allowed in there either. In the kids' room, there's a lovely decorative boat, but the children can't go on it or near it, so you have to make sure they don't. The club experience felt pointless for our family, so we may as well stay on the front at that bar, where there are no issues, or head back to the caravan. I wish there were a pool table for older teens, since most of it seems geared towards age four and up. We still love the place, but something really needs to change.

The beach is stunning and well maintained. There's a wide range of activities for families, plus a dedicated children's park, which makes this a remarkable place for a family visit.

We had a lovely time in the caravan, which we privately rented from the owners, and could still use all the park facilities. The beds were all made up for our arrival, and we were surprised by how well-equipped the kitchen was. There's decking where we could sit and relax, and the caravan has its own Wi-Fi, smart TV and PS4, so there was plenty for the kids to watch and do in the evenings. We'd love to book with them again for October half term if it's available. We found them on Facebook under Willows Bryher.

The resort's other facilities were disappointing. The fairground is small and aimed at very young children, and the swimming pool is smaller than we'd hoped. The kids might have been bored if we'd stayed longer. The 20ft lodge, though, was a real treat: spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and quite comfortable beds. Two bedrooms had en-suite bathrooms, and the master bathroom had a bathtub and fitted shower. All three bathrooms had essentials, the towels were clean and fluffy, and the linen was lovely and fresh. Each lodge had its own decent Wi-Fi, and the hot tub was great. The staff were helpful too. I'd have given five stars if the resort facilities had been better.

The staff we met were a credit to the company, from Victor's warm welcome and directions to the lodge, to Richard chatting with us while checking the hot tub. Reception helped my brother get gym access, and he said they were brilliant. The groundsmen were friendly as well. A special mention to the lovely lady who checked on us three times during Storm Claudia, when we were without power for 5.5 hours. She came to check we were okay, brought a torch, then invited us to the Showboat when power was back and food was available. We understand Richard braved fallen branches and debris on the roads to go to Aber for torches. Her care in such frightening, stormy weather was commendable. This was our first stay here for my annual organised friends and family reunion. We'd moved closer to Aberystwyth after usually staying out of town, so it was a fingers-crossed choice. We booked a diamond lodge with a hot tub for three nights last weekend, and it was fantastic: spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped. Everything about the lodge was faultless. The hot tub was brilliant and at a lovely temperature, though it seemed to seat five, while we were six adults. There were five recessed seats and five drink tray slots, so it was cosy for all of us. That probably wouldn't be a problem with children in the group. I'm very happy to recommend the stay, and we'll be back next year.
