Heron House

Fiona made us feel like friends from the moment we arrived, and the whole stay felt personal and relaxed. Our room was simply beautiful, fit for a king or queen. The house was spotless, with big fluffy towels and excellent toiletries. Fiona's cooking was fantastic, served with a genuine smile, and she was happy to help with anything. I’d recommend staying here without hesitation. Thank you, Fiona, for such a lovely visit. It was a pleasure meeting you, and we hope we’ll get to come back.

The breakfasts were amazing, and Fiona was an absolute joy as host. Heron House has a lovely old English feel, with luxurious furnishings, huge fluffy towels, and sumptuous pillows. Bampton itself is a beautiful village. We stayed two nights and loved every bit of it. Many thanks, highly recommended.

We felt at home at Heron House almost straight away, even though we were only there for two nights. Fiona is delightful and made us feel so welcome, and she’s a fantastic cook. The food was wonderful, made with locally sourced ingredients that you could really taste. The house is an 18th century building in Bampton. Its decor may look old fashioned at first, but we felt Fiona had chosen each piece to suit the building's age, and it adds to the charm. We’ll definitely stay again. Ten stars for Fiona.

We really enjoyed our stay in this pretty village. There isn’t a huge amount there, but the fish and chip shop is worth trying. We liked that it’s an adults only place. Fiona was a perfect host, friendly and professional. Breakfast was amazing, from the cereals and yoghurt with her homemade fruit compote, fresh pineapple and juice, to tea, coffee or hot chocolate and fresh bread from the local bakery for toast. There was also a cooked breakfast with several egg styles to choose from. The house is beautiful, and our warm, comfortable room had a four poster bed and a huge bathroom.
