I booked for a week of work and liked the place enough to book the following week too. The restaurant food was really good, and I'd recommend going for a meal if you're local. There's a good sports bar as well. The rooms are pretty average, but the staff are very friendly. You can also park a campervan in the car park and get an electric hookup for a small fee.

We came off the Two Moors Way and stopped at Thelbridge Cross for a Sunday roast. The owner greeted us with a cheerful welcome and a bit of banter. The roast was plentiful and nice, and two pleasant young lads served us. We enjoyed the food, beer and atmosphere, and the nice lights by the bar.

We stayed for two nights and had a great room with a comfortable bed. Our dog was welcome to join us in the bar while we ate. There was no breakfast, but they provided a great packed lunch with plenty of choice.

The landlady is an absolute delight, so kind I hardly know how to describe it. We had a Sunday Roast that we won't forget in a hurry. The Thelbridge Cross Inn is an iconic landmark in this gorgeous area and a wonderful place to stay for a few days.

The staff were welcoming, and there was a brilliant choice on the menu. It was a bit pricey, but worth every penny. They didn't have a steak bag listed, but still went ahead and made one for me. It's a lovely little place, though very much off the beaten track.
