We were staying nearby for a wedding and arrived late, but the helpful staff had left a key out for us. The room was cosy and really nice, with the feeling of being on an old sailing ship and great views over Plymouth Sound. The bed was excellent too, with a good mattress, unlike the one at the Hotel du Vin where we'd stayed recently. Breakfast was very good, served in a wood-panelled bar that carried on the ship feeling. It's a delightful pub hotel with really nice staff and very reasonable prices. I'd recommend booking direct for a much better price.

The rooms are immaculate and have fantastic views. We were in Rm1, at this lovely community pub and hotel with such high standards. The passenger foot Ferry to Plymouth is right outside the front door. We stumbled across the place while looking for a Campervan site, and from my first phone call with the owner Dan, we felt welcome and were met with such kindness. The staff were first class. Check-in was easy, and they gave us lots of information about the pub and room. The owner's son Kian came over while we were eating and was incredibly kind and friendly. I can't say enough about the attention to detail and customer service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The carvery was great, with a nice choice of meat, perfectly done roast potatoes, and decent veg. The food was absolutely perfect. The odd thing was that they seated me, my wife, and daughter at a tiny table for two. We couldn't fit our plates on it.

We came from Penzance for one night and are already planning to return. Our group of 11 had six rooms, all comfortable and top quality, and if we could give more than five stars, we would. The carvery was wonderful and plentiful, as was the lovely breakfast. The staff were tremendous and nothing was too much trouble. Well done, everyone!

The kitchen kept the food coming even though the place was deservedly packed, and the bar and table service were quick and friendly. Thanks especially to Leia. We booked a table for eight for Sunday carvery and really enjoyed the fresh, well-cooked, well-seasoned vegetables, the decent choice of meats and the vegetarian Wellington. Highly recommend the carvery. What you do beforehand is your business :)
