We booked the tasting menu, and it was incredible. The salmon rosti with poached egg was so good I asked them to add it to the daily menu. The venison pie for the main course was stunning too. The restaurant feels warm, cosy and friendly, and the owners and staff are polite and welcoming, always happy to help. The price was the best part: for food of that quality, I expected to pay twice as much. We’ve driven past this pub many times and wish we’d found this gem sooner. I’d highly recommend stopping in. I’ll definitely come back whenever I want good food.

The Sunday roast lunch was delicious, and we thought it was good value for money. My husband and I went for the first time today. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we’ll definitely visit again when we’re in the area.

We had a family meal on Saturday, and the food, service and atmosphere were superb. It’s a proper, family-run pub, with friendly staff who couldn’t do more to help, and great banter from the locals. The menu has plenty of choice, including local treats, and is very reasonably priced. The food is fresh, locally sourced and cooked to order. If you come expecting chain-pub food and service, you may be disappointed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place.

The Hunters chicken was banging, and the team clearly cares about its customers. We dropped in for lunch for the first time today, Jan 26th, and were greeted with smiles in a warm atmosphere. Highly recommend.

We stopped on the way to Kingsand and Cawsand and got a really friendly welcome. The burger and ham, egg and chips were fantastic, and the chef was friendly too. We’ll definitely go back when we’re in the area. Highly recommended.
