The views were unforgettable, and the quiet neighbourhood made it easy to relax. This apartment in Holyhead’s South Stack was very clean and cosy, with a comfortable bed that’s just right for two. A lovely, well-kept place for a peaceful stay.

We loved the location. It feels like you’re out in the sticks, though town is only a mile or two away. South Stack lighthouse is a short walk, and the ancient hut circles are just a stone’s throw away. In the Garden Apartment, the hosts had kindly left breakfast items and snacks in the kitchen, which was a really nice touch. The place has a living area, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom, and felt very homely. It was comfortable throughout, especially the bed. Highly recommended, and we hope to come back soon.

The Coastal House had room to spare for our group of 11 adults, two children and three dogs. The gardens are spacious, with sun beds, a fire pit area and an outdoor dining table, and the views were fantastic. Everything was spotlessly clean and the furnishings were high quality. It’s ideal for a big family gathering, though not if you’re looking for lively nightlife. Well worth a visit.

There was no garden access, hot tub or shared facilities, despite what the listing said. The room was mouldy, the paint was peeling, and one side had no secure door. It was so damp that the bedding and toilet rolls were wet, so we had to drive four hours home and couldn’t stay. We paid £250 for two nights through BuyAGift for our anniversary, and the whole thing ruined our bank holiday and celebration. I’ve tried calling and emailing, but no one has returned our calls. To add to this, neither my husband nor I have had any contact from them, and there’s been no refund or offer to rebook, even though our anniversary was ruined and we wasted £250.
