The food was a real highlight, beautifully presented and delicious. Our guests were so impressed with the menu that they’re still calling to talk about it. The hotel staff were polite, cheerful, efficient and attentive, looking after everyone warmly. Martin Smith and the whole team took charge of coordinating with all our suppliers. Every detail was handled so carefully that my husband, I and our 80 guests could simply enjoy the day without worrying about anything. The planning was flawless and gave us complete peace of mind. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our wedding on 6th June 2026 at The Piersland Hotel feel like a fairytale and for keeping the day entirely stress-free. If you want a team you can trust with a special occasion, I can’t recommend Martin Smith and The Piersland Hotel highly enough.

The wedding meal was fabulous, and breakfast the next morning was superb, with hot dishes made to order. I stayed for one night after a wedding at the venue and couldn’t fault the place or its staff. Everyone was polite, friendly and helpful, and there were plenty of people around. They treated every request as important. Umbrellas were available throughout the hotel to borrow. My Mews room was stunning, with its own sitting room, a sofa big enough to sleep on and a TV in each room. The super-king bed, made from two singles zipped together, felt wonderfully luxurious. It was so dark at night that every speck of light seemed blocked out, which made for a great sleep. The only small gripe was the lack of plugs near the bed. I couldn’t charge my phone there or use it as a light if I needed the loo, so there was some stumbling around in the early hours. I’d definitely return. Thank you, Piersland House Hotel.

The restaurant and bar were the best part for us. The staff were phenomenal, really personable and attentive, and the mushrooms from the starter menu were our favourite of the things we tried. We came in May, before peak summer season. After a few weeks of travelling, this place felt like a refreshing stop. Our twin layout in the mews was very clean and comfortable.

The service here is hard to beat. Everyone was warm, welcoming and professional, and the General Manager and team deserve real credit for making hospitality look so easy. We stay away a lot, and this is easily one of our best experiences. The room was spacious, spotless, lovely and very well equipped. The Hogmanay and New Year meals were cooked perfectly despite a very busy restaurant, with brilliant presentation. Eating out is a treat for me when the food is better than what I can make at home, and that’s becoming less common, even though I’m not the best cook. The drinks came quickly too. Breakfast was lovely, ordered at the table and cooked fresh, piping hot and served promptly. I much prefer that to the buffet breakfasts I often see. The quality local ingredients seemed to carry through all the meals, breakfast included. Our original New Year trip to Brugge was abandoned after our train to Brussels was cancelled because of the EuroTunnel closure. We were disappointed, so I contacted Piersland House and a few other hotels on the train home, hoping to find somewhere for Hogmanay the next day. Piersland House got back first with a great set of options. We’d stayed before, so we booked straight away. We hope to see you soon. Thanks for a perfect New Year, even if it wasn’t planned.

We’ve stayed here before and will be back soon. The food at both lunch and dinner was excellent, freshly made with skill and presented beautifully. Our lodge room was spotless and comfortable, with parking right by the door. Throughout our overnight stay the staff were friendly and professional, and the service was very good. They even set aside the phone charger we inevitably left behind as lost property. Highly recommended.
