Cornish Holiday – Bodannon

Everything was clean and we had all we needed. The hot tub was a lovely extra. Porthtowan made a great base, and since it was our first family holiday away, we had a really good time. We’ll definitely come back. Thanks!

The room we had wasn’t cleaned properly under the beds. There were sweet wrappers, paper and a paintbrush left from previous guests. I would’ve added a photo, but there wasn’t an option. The village has a wonderful pub, The Unicorn, with friendly staff and amazing food. The cove and its scenery are beautiful, a glorious part of Cornwall. We also got lovely welcome packs for both people and dogs. Just be aware the hill up to the property is very steep and won’t suit people with mobility restrictions.

We had a brilliant stay. The house was clean and tidy, suited our needs well, and the hot tub was a great bonus. A few things worth knowing: the beach is nearby, but reaching it means a long, very steep hill, which my grandparents couldn’t manage up or down. The place can sleep eight adults, though the sitting area isn’t very big. The nearest major town is five miles away, so heading out can be a chore if you haven’t planned ahead. I’d recommend it to a young family.

The children could play freely in this lovely, safe place, and it’s only a short walk from the beach. But on our first day we found black spots on the tables and even on the duvet covers. We worked out they were fly droppings, and attached pictures. With a proper clean, this would have been five stars. We’d have appreciated a cleaner property.
