The owner and staff were really friendly and helpful, and the price was very reasonable. I had a most enjoyable three-night stay at the Fairlight Guest House. My room was very comfortable, and breakfast was excellent. Couldn’t find a fault.

Lovely place, with everything you need in one room and lots of little touches like tissues and cotton buds. The best breakfast I had on my trip. Most places just serve the usual fried breakfast, so avocado and egg was a welcome change. Would recommend!

We stayed here for a wedding at the Inn on the Lake, directly across the road. Room no 2 was just right for what we needed, clean and warm, with an en suite shower and toiletries provided. There were tea, coffee, biscuits and water in the room. We got a very warm welcome and enjoyed breakfast on both mornings. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

I found this place to be a little gem for walking, with a nice room, a comfortable bed and a good night’s sleep. I’d booked a night so I could go climbing over the weekend. The lady was absolutely wonderful and couldn’t have been more helpful. Before I arrived, she texted to warn me about a landslide on a road from Windermere and suggested a different route. I was leaving early and couldn’t stay for breakfast, so she made sure I had enough food for my walk. Amazing.

The owner was lovely and very welcoming, and our clean, cosy room gave us a great night’s sleep. We’ve just got home from a weekend break. The guesthouse is perfectly placed for the village and as a base for exploring the lakes. We’ll definitely book again.
