Pear Tree Cabin was gorgeous, spacious, clean, warm and cosy, and the property was so peaceful and picturesque. We watched the evening sunsets, with skies like a painting, and the wood fire added to the tranquillity. There are friendly alpacas and some farm cats on the property, and the shower pressure was fantastic. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals, with a local supermarket nearby for groceries. Louise and Andrew, the owners and builders, are genuinely lovely and happy to suggest places to see and eat. From the moment we booked, we felt in good hands: they sent up-to-date emails about our stay and detailed directions so we could arrive safe and sound. They’d also left a congratulations banner and a bottle of lovely Australian wine to celebrate our honeymoon. We’d highly recommend Newland Valley Log Cabins and encourage anyone to stay.

We love the authentic, hand-built log cabins and how comfortable and cosy they feel inside. There’s everything you need, and shops for any extra food or drinks are just a two-minute drive away. The owners are welcoming and accommodating, and we’ve had many lovely chats with them. Feeding the alpacas onsite has been one of our highlights. We’ve stayed at Newlands Valley Log Cabins twice and plan to return again this year. On our visit just after Christmas, the tree and decorations in the cabin made our stay even nicer. We’ll definitely be back, and would recommend it for a Lake District stay.

Guardswood cabin was excellent, really comfortable, and had all the amenities taken care of. We made good use of the log fire, which made the room even cosier. The hosts kept us informed throughout and were great. It’s a super quiet place to stay, with plenty of parking in a stunning area to visit.

We spent four nights in Pear Tree Cabin recently and had a wonderful time. Bad weather meant we didn’t venture far, but the lovely scenery and walks from the cabin were enough. Ulverston is only a five-minute drive away, with lots to offer, and we found a lovely village pub for a birthday meal. The cabin was cosy, comfortable and had everything we needed. We’ll definitely return!

The alpacas were a lovely bonus, and the cabins are a great spot for a long weekend away from London. We really enjoyed relaxing by the wood-burning heater in the living room. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the BBQ area was just right. We’ll be recommending the place and are already looking forward to coming back.
