The beer garden had a lovely sunny buzz, with several other bikers parked outside like us. We stopped at the Sun Inn late Saturday afternoon on our way home from Dave Day. Stu, the recently appointed manager, was rushing about clearing glasses, bringing food out and checking on everyone. The staff were smartly dressed, attentive and looked great. We’d already eaten near Barrow and had plans later, so we didn’t order anything, but the burgers and sharing platters coming out looked so tempting I want to return for a meal. The music was good too, and the place had a really nice feel. We’ll be back soon.

We first came for drinks on Saturday night, then returned for breakfast Sunday. The food was fantastic, and we couldn’t fault it. There’s good music and a lovely beer garden here too. The staff were so helpful. We’d left a bag at another pub the night before, but it was closed when we went back. As we were heading home and couldn’t wait for it to open later, one of the staff offered to collect it and post it to us. We forgot to get his name, but that was incredibly kind and we appreciate it so much. Thank you! 😊

I was really pleased with the room and the whole experience. The hotel has a great atmosphere and a perfect location, and every interaction was handled with 100 percent service, from reception to housekeeping. I’ll definitely book again next time I’m here.

We needed somewhere at short notice to dry our soaking Cumbria way gear and get some sleep. The room did the job, and reception were super friendly. The continental breakfast was easy enough, if a bit underwhelming. Great value for the price.

We were only there for one night for a show, and it was disappointing. We’d been told we had a renovated room, but it was shocking. No breakfast was prepared, so we left without eating and won’t be back. The lads working there were good, but that was about it. The chef looked like he couldn’t be bothered.
