The owner was very intrusive. The day before we arrived, she bombarded us by text and email with a book of rules to follow. The plumbing also felt dangerous, with electric sockets directly below the sink, so take care when washing up. No bin bags, dishcloths or dishwasher tablets were provided, so bring your own. We were accused of taking children’s books. I told the owner they were in the bedroom bedside drawer, but we never got an apology after she found them. Insulting a seven-year-old girl was in bad taste and frankly disgusting. The flooring wasn’t finished, with gaps between the slats. Walking barefoot was painful because the wooden slats moved and pinched our feet several times. The banister wobbled from side to side, so I wouldn’t rely on it on the stairs. At the top, watch out for the curtains hanging over the last step. The kitchen floor, shower and bath needed cleaning. There were dead leaves all over the kitchen floor, and mud in both the shower and bath when we arrived. We spent the first day cleaning, which was unacceptable. The cutlery is tucked away in a secret compartment in the top drawer. The owner said in an email that people keep stealing her forks. After being accused of taking books she later found, I did wonder whether that was true. This mini break was not a nice experience, and I can’t recommend staying here.
